Hi my name is Jo and I will be teaching you woodcarving if you choose to come on this course. I learnt to carve in Tanzania under guidance of some truly brilliant sculptors in the coastal town of Bagamoyo. Deeply inspired by the place and the people I decided to bring a flavour of this back home.
A few years later I have made with the help of John the Blacksmith some copies of the African adz, a truly brilliant tool. I have also built a workshop set in the heart of the woods. In the woodcarving courses you will start with a log and end with a work of art. You will carve the wood using imagination as inspiration and I will be guide to keep you on the right tracks. The forest provides shelter from the outside world to make the experience magical and unforgettable.Course cost £150.
